Rehabilitation - Inpatient
Fawcett Memorial Hospital offers comprehensive rehabilitation services for patients affected by stroke, head injury, amputation, multiple trauma, neuromuscular disorders, as well as many other illnesses and injuries requiring a coordinated intensive therapy approach.
The Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit is a 20 bed unit located on the second floor of Fawcett Memorial Hospital. Treatment is provided on an inpatient basis by the following interdisciplinary team of specialists:
- Physiatrist (Doctor of Rehabilitation Medicine)
- Rehabilitation Nurse
- Social Worker
- Physical Therapist
- Occupational Therapist
- Recreational Therapist
- Speech-Language Pathologist
- Neuropsychologist
- Dietician
- Respiratory Therapist
- Chaplin
- Consulting Physicians
This is the only licensed and CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit in Charlotte County.

To make a referral to Fawcett Memorial Hospital’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, or to request a tour of the Unit, please call the Admission/Intake office directly at (941) 255-2379.
Patients may request their physicians or caseworker to initiate a referral. Rehabilitative services are covered by Medicare and may be covered by other insurances if the patient meets admission criteria.
