"My Urologist, Dr. Jens Carlsen, had performed a biopsy on my Prostate due to an elevated PSA result. The results were positive for Prostate cancer. The recommendation was for a "nerve sparing-minimally invasive" Robotic Radical Prostatectomy. Considering that Dr. Carlsen had performed this surgery many times, and combined with research of my own, I agreed to proceed down this path for treatment. The operation was to be performed at Fawcett Memorial Hospital.
"Upon arrival at Fawcett Memorial the morning of the surgery, my anxiety was quickly quelled by the friendliness, professionalism, and competence of the staff. During my hospital stay, all the staff…administration, surgical prep, anesthesiologist Dr. Todd Rappaport, housekeeping, and nursing were very accommodating and focused on my care. My recovery period has been relatively brief, and I am now back to functioning in a normal routine. The Robotic "nerve sparing-minimally invasive" surgery performed by Dr. Carlsen at Fawcett Memorial Hospital has hastened my recovery time and minimized the loss of any normal functions."
